Steel Tubing

Steel Tubing is used in a variety of industries. These industries are nearly as diverse as the number of tubing pieces available. The tubing is made from a combination of alloys which are selected according to which industry or purpose the tubing will serve. Many factories, mills and production lines use steel components for their machines and in the products they make. Steel tubing brings to mind a circular image, but steel tubing is manufactured into many shapes and thicknesses from oval and round, to rectangular and round. Companies that produce steel tubing will offer to have tubes cut-to-length or custom produced depending on the customer’s needs. Custom-made steel tubing is used in many different applications such as mufflers, fire extinguishers, grain augers, railings, fences and many other industrial applications.

Steel Tubing can also have fabricated into Hollow Structural Sections (HSS). HSS are high-strength welded steel structural tubing produced in round, square, rectangle and custom shapes. Custom HSS can be fabricated into squares and rectangles ranging from 12″ to 50″ outside diameter with wall thickness from .313 to 1″ in a variety of steel grades. These large tubes are available in lengths up to 60 feet with 1″ and 2″ corner radii. HSS is used in buildings, other structures and manufactured items.
